Armando Martínez-Fernández is a Shareholder in the Corporate Division of Fiddler, González & Rodríguez, P.S.C. He is also a member of the Board of Directors.
Mr. Martínez participated in the drafting of Puerto Rico Telecommunications Act of 1997 and has represented major telecommunication companies in far-reaching telecommunications litigation before the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico. He has considerable experience negotiating interconnection agreements.
In the securities field, Mr. Martínez has also actively participated in multiple bond issues for the Government of Puerto Rico, its agencies, as well as private issuers.
Mr. Martínez has represented race-track owners, sport betting operators, gaming machine manufacturers and casino operators. His services include assisting clients with their applications for licensing, advising clients on gaming law and regulations, and representing them before the Puerto Rico Racing Board.
He has also significant experience representing government agencies, investors, developers and syndication companies in connection with financing transactions involving Low Income Housing Tax Credits and New Market Tax Credits programs.
Mr. Martínez has advised and counseled air carriers in matters involving freight forwarding services, and domestic and international air cargo shipments.
Before joining Fiddler, Mr. Martínez served as law clerk for the Honorable Federico Hernández Denton, former Chief Justice of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court.
