Erika Martínez-Ríos is an Associate in the Labor and Employment Law Division of Fiddler, González & Rodríguez, P.S.C.
Ms. Martínez-Ríos’ practice includes wrongful termination, employment discrimination, as well as labor and employment counseling.
While in law school, Ms. Martínez-Ríos served as legal clerk in a private law firm, where she worked matters related to Labor and Employment Law, Tort Law and Contracts. In addition, Ms. Martínez-Ríos served as law clerk for the Puerto Rico Court of Appeals. After her clerkship, Ms. Martínez-Ríos served as intern at the Mediation and Adjudication Office of the Puerto Rico Department of Labor and Human Resources. During her internship, Ms. Martínez-Ríos assisted the administrative judges in cases regarding wrongful termination and wage and hour claims, among others.
During her law school term, Ms. Martínez-Ríos served as Editor for the University of Puerto Rico Law Review and Blog News Writer of the Student Association of Intellectual Property.
Ms. Martínez-Ríos participated in the Pro Bono Program of the National Organization of Animal Rights and was a member of the Sexual Orientation and Genre Identity Discrimination section of the University of Puerto Rico’s Legal Clinic. While working in the Legal Aid Clinic Ms. Martínez-Ríos was an active participant in legislative lobbying efforts in connection with legislation, which would allow same sex couple adoption, and contributed to the report to the International Commission of Human Rights related to said matter.
